I am so honored that you stopped by today! For me, life is one big adventure and the more trips I take around the sun the more I find the beauty in each part of the journey. Whether you are blissfully engaged, happily married, preparing to bring forth new life, or find yourself rekindling the spark, we want to hear from you. It is our mission to serve and support couples no matter what stage of life you are in.
Last weekend Ryan and I hopped in the car and drove to New York City for a fun little get away (happy early anniversary, babe!) and to meet up with Julianne and Sean in their hometown of Hoboken. And let me tell ya, these two are the best hosts! During their engagement session they shared their favorite places with us including the PATH train station where they both commute from daily into the city, their go to pizza place where you get a slice of pizza the size of your face, and one of the best views of the NYC skyline. We even met up with some of their closest friends at Union Hall for some fun photos and of course yummy food and drinks! To say we had a blast is a complete understatement.
Julianne and Sean’s engagement session was full of laughter (the deep down belly laughs where your cheeks hurt afterwards from laughing so hard) and tender forehead kisses because, in the words of Julianne, “He’s just so tall.” : ) The more I got to know this sweet couple the more I fell in love with them, too. So kind. So welcoming. And so thoughtful. It’s no wonder these two lovebirds are drawn to one another. If our short time with them last week is any indication of what the wedding day will be like, I truly cannot wait! Not only am I sure it will be so romantic and touching, but also overfilled with lots of joy and smiles.
Thank you over and over again, Julianne and Sean, for welcoming Ryan and I into your lives and for showing us around! August cannot come soon enough! And a huge thank you to Union Hall for letting us all hang out while I grabbed some super fun photos of the whole gang!
It’s always a blessing to photograph a wedding at Riverdale Manor. Everything about this place exudes elegance and warmth, yet it is also intimate and romantic. Add in Sam and Allison and their gorgeous wedding day and voila! This adorable duo is as sweet as pie and their families were more than welcoming to us, too. We started off our time with Sam and Allison by capturing a few candids before the first look. When it came time for Allison to surprise her soon-to-be-hubby, Lilly and I were just as excited as they were! The looks on their faces were priceless and their reactions to one another gave you all the warm, lovey-dovey feelings that wedding days are made of.
Some of my favorite details of the day were all of the personal touches. A family friend of Sam’s, Sugar Mountain Farms, created all of the stunning floral arrangements. And Allison’s mom, Judy, grew all of the succulents that were included in those creations. We even got to come home with a few at the end of the night! And specifically in Allison’s bouquet they added a pin from her grandmother and lace from her mom’s veil. So sweet! And speaking of sweetness, Allison’s dad worked for Hershey so of course there was no shortage of Hershey’s chocolate kisses to snack on throughout the day. Allison’s dress is also one of my favorite’s that I’ve ever had the honor to photograph. An amazing Stella York creation that she found at The Coastal Knot in North Carolina, the state she and Sam now call home.
When it came time for the ceremony these two lovebirds were surrounded by their closest family and friends; including their siblings and their families (with the most adorable ring bearer who lovingly refers to Sam as “Uncle Ham”) and the college gang from their time at Susquehanna University. They all were an wonderful group of people to celebrate with and we honestly were sad to see the night end. Thankfully we keep in touch with all of our Mallory McClure Photography couples! In the words of Allison, “You’ll have a hard time getting rid of us.” Thank goodness, because we don’t want to ever lose touch!
As Sam and Allison approach their first anniversary I am honored to share some of their gorgeous day with you! Their first year of marriage has been a wonderful one and we can’t wait to see where the rest of the journey takes them!

When Kristin and Tim arrived at our place this past Saturday for the engagement session I was wowed by how stunning they looked and how sweet of a couple they were. I immediately panicked as I was about to ask them to jump into Ryan’s truck and drive through our muddy fields to our first location. I was delighted to hear these two were completely up for it or as Kristin put it, “it was their cup of tea”. They even were up for braving the wet grass and oh my am I so glad they were. Kristin and Tim really came alive throughout their woodsy session as we made our way through the fields and over streams. Their smiles were infectious while they snuggled close and laughed together. And the peacefulness they exuded as they reminisced on where their relationship all began (in middle school!) and how far they’ve come since those days was contagious. I especially loved when they recounted the proposal story. Tim does woodworking in his free time and hand carved a box for the engagement ring to sit in. He then took Kristin to the Gettysburg battlegrounds, as they had many times before, with the box tucked safely into his boot. During our time with them, Kristin admitted to walking in on Tim one night as he was creating the wooden box and almost discovering his sweet surprise for her. Thankfully, Tim was quick to hid his handy work and Kristin never found out until Tim was on one knee.
Our time with Kristin and Tim was so fun and we cannot wait for their wedding day at The Lodges at Gettysburg. Until then, we will just continue ooo-ing and ahh-ing over these photos to get us through the next few months.

Last Saturday’s wedding was a sweet reminder that we should always be aware of our treasures. Melissa and Dave embraced the rainy weather and were simply happy to be married and celebrating with their closest friends and family. From the adorable church to dancing the night away at the Hollywood Casino, their smiles never faded. Their laughter was infectious and seeing these two families come together as one was heartwarming. During the ceremony, Melissa knelt down to Dave’s youngest son, Aaron, and vowed herself to him, as well. Whew! There was not a dry eye in the church – ours included!
I had the pleasure of reuniting with Juke Box Hits that evening who DJ’d Ryan and I’s wedding almost ten years ago. We reminisced back to that day, caught up on the present, and gushed about our kiddos in between dinner and dances. Throughout the night the bridal party entertained us with their classic moves on the dance floor (sprinkler anyone?), while others jumped into the photobooth for a good laugh. One of them most touching moments of the night came from the anniversary dance in which we discovered the couple who has been married the longest; a dear, sweet husband and wife who jokingly shared their secret to success, “Happy wife, happy life.”
Overall, the day was a beautiful one no matter what mother nature was throwing at us. Thank you, Melissa and Dave, for allowing us to join you on your wedding day! We are overjoyed for you both and can’t wait to see where the journey of marriage takes you!

So this wedding right here was so special to me for many reasons. Not only have I known Maria, the stunning bride, her entire life, but I was the flower girl in her mom’s wedding and our families have been friends for longer than I can remember. It was such a blessing to see everything come full circle and get to photograph her beautiful day when she married her best friend, Ryan.
Ryan and Maria met at Messiah College. And whether they are staying in to binge watch Netflix or heading out to check out the latest movie, their time is always full of laughter (mostly do to Ryan and his jovial nature) and love. When I met with Maria and Ryan for the first time to chat about their wedding day I also learned that Ryan and I shared a love for The Game of Thrones and I knew he and I were going to get along juuust fine.
The two began their wedding weekend at the forever stunning Lily Manor which just so happens to be one of my favorite wedding venues! While the girls relaxed while getting their hair and make up complete, the boys took advantage of their down time joking around with one another. When I arrived the vibe was completely serene and you knew it was just going to be one of those amazing days witnessing two families coming together. It came time for the ceremony and we traveled down the road a bit to the couples’ church where Maria and Ryan took a quiet moment to pray over their day and then immersed themselves into their beautiful ceremony. And as Maria made her way down the aisle holding on to her dad and her late grandmother’s handkerchief, Ryan beamed from ear to ear. Led by family friends, Ryan’s dad, and Maria’s sister, the ceremony was full of awe-inspiring music and beautiful testimony as everyone sang along and took in the message.
After the ceremony we ventured back to Lily Manor for photos and cocktail hour. And when it came time for introductions and toasts Maria’s sister, Brooke, presented the sweetest surprise for her sister and new brother-in-law. We all knew Brooke was musically gifted, but as she played the piano and sang the song she wrote for Ryan and Maria we all teared up and smiled at the beautiful words she sang.
The rest of the evening included dancing, LOTS of laughter, and amazing food. And can we talk about those ah-mazing floral pieces that hung above each table?! Such a cool idea and allowed their guests to chat over dinner without anything obstructing their view of one another plus extra table space to showcase their favors; tiny bottles of Heinz Ketchup in honor of Ryan’s passion for it. It was exactly the perfect kind of wedding day I would wish for, for this adorable couple and I am so honored I got to be a part of it. Congratulations Maria + Ryan!

This past Sunday was an experience I will never forget. When Hannah and I first dreamed up Beyond the Vows we imagined a day of fun sessions where couples could take a break from the busyness of day to day life and focus on one another. As we completed our first two events our hearts soared with ideas and this spring we were blessed to be joined by several wonderful people who gladly joined the movement and gave of their time, talents, and support. And the result of months of planning was better than we could have ever imagined.
The lovely ladies at The Farm at Eagles Ridge were gracious hosts and we could not have asked for more perfect weather. We literally were all bouncing in our seats with excitement as we pulled in the driveway and immediately set out to begin working on creating the vision we had for our couples to experience as they joined us that day. Betsy and Paige are the kindest souls who opened their farm house and allowed us to use it as if it were our own. It was so reassuring to know that they supported this movement we feel so strongly about. I even had the chance to meet the entire family behind this beautiful farm as they were kindly putting “The Notebook Boat” in the pond for us to use!
As the couples arrived they were welcomed by our dream team and led off to a quiet space where they could begin to reflect privately on their feelings for their spouse by writing a love note to be later read during the session. And while one spouse wrote, the other got to indulge in yummy treats and cool drinks while sitting in the dining nook overlooking the immaculately landscaped property. Once the love letters were complete, we ventured outside through the blooming magnolia trees, budding weeping willows, and down by the pond. As we roamed the property taking photographs of each couple, we provided an experience to get them to connect on a deeper level. Some moments included fun prompts and exercises while others got them thinking back to that moment they first fell in love.
These sessions aren’t just about capturing beautiful photographs. They are therapeutic. They bring out those early butterflies that made you giggle when your first caught each other’s eyes in a crowded room. They take you back through time to memories you may have forgotten about that you once cherished so deeply. They may even stir strong emotions that will cause a lump in your throat and tears in your eyes. These sessions are created with you and your spouse in mind to rekindle, revive, remember, and renew.
And as each session came to a close the couples stayed to spend more time with one another whether that was sharing a drink on the back patio or going for a walk. Others also journeyed to downtown Lancaster to some of the fantastic restaurants and shops. All in all, it was a day in which each couple left feeling more deeply connected to their spouse and that left our hearts full. And as we hugged goodbye with each sweet couple we sent them with a little thank you gift that included The Navigator’s Council; a fantastic marriage workbook that myself and Hannah can attest to its greatness as we both use it with our husbands. It is our hope that each couple’s experience reignites their passion and drive to continue to invest in their marriages far beyond our event.
This past weekend I got to spend some time in the sunshine with my family celebrating the Easter holiday. It was the perfect break away from the cold winter weather and the perfect time to celebrate bringing forth new life into the world. I also got to spend some time with Kaci and Dylan documenting a big milestone for them as they prepare to welcome their son, Jayce, in the next few weeks. These two lovebirds met in high school, but never really got to know each other until college and started as best friends before deciding they just couldn’t be without one another. A few years later and Dylan surprised Kaci by proposing on a trip to the Pocono’s for his birthday. This past year has been full of love for them from their wedding day to finding out they were going to become parents. And as we explored around our little farm right before sunset my initial visions for this session came to life. Kaci was stunning in her flowing dress accompanied by a gorgeous floral crown from the amazing gals at Petals with Style! And Dylan was the best support system making sure Kaci was comfortable and even buckling her shoes for her (those last few weeks of pregnancy will do that to ya!). After their session they sat with Lilly and I in the studio as we reminisced about our own pregnancies and how amazing becoming a parent is. It is definitely the toughest journey I’ve ever set out on, but boy is it 1,000x worth it. Kaci and Dylan, I pray that these last few weeks you find quiet time to be together and enjoy the last few moments of being just the two of you. I pray that baby Jayce makes an easy entry into this crazy world and that you embrace the moment. There is nothing quite like the beautiful journey of becoming a parent!
Wedding planning can be SO overwhelming. Trust me, been there done that. All the deposit due dates, time lines and fine prints can add up quickly and make it impossible to sort through the ocean of information you have received to find the bits and pieces that are actually useful. Whether you are newly engaged and dipping your toe into the waters of wedding planning or have been at this for a few months now and find yourself drowning in the sea of information, don’t worry we got your back! We have learned tips and tricks over the years, made fantastic friendships with some amazing friendors (wedding vendors turned friends!) that we can hook you up with, and do everything possible to make your wedding day a relaxed experience so you can focus on the reason you’re doing all of this planning in the first place.
Today, we’re focusing on just the photography aspect of your wedding day and picked 5 of our favorite questions to be asked by our couples:
And just to help set the scene, imagine you’re sitting in our studio meeting space on our comfy chairs holding the hand of your fiance as we chat with you over coffee and sweets…
1. Can I give you some ideas of shots I’d like you to take for sure? YES absolutely! What is important to you is important to us. We want to make sure your vision of storytelling comes to life. That is why is is SO important to us to make strong relationships with each one of our couples. We want to completely understand the visions in your head and make them a reality. That is also why we take the time to ensure that we are the best fit for you and that our artistic visions match your own. Have a Pinterest board with all of those amazing ideas?! Send it our way! We’re visuals and seeing other photographs beyond our own that you admire really helps.
2. What is your cancellation policy? Super important! Most photographers (us included) charge a non-refundable down payment to be made at the time of booking. This is simply because we hold that day for you and turn down other potential couples inquiring for the same date. When we become our wedding photographers we become YOUR wedding photographers and direct all of our focus that day on you.
3. When will I get to see my photographs after the wedding? This is a great question and super informative for the anxious time post wedding when all you do is want to relive the day through your images. For us its usually about 4 weeks. Around this time frame we will have you to our studio for a Design Session where we will walk you through your online gallery (available for sharing for 60 days), present you with your custom USB that holds all of your photographs, and start planning out how you are going to showcase your wedding memories whether it is through album design, print, or canvas. But don’t worry, there will be plenty of sneak peeks during that 4 week window to hold you over! We’re just as excited to share the photographs with you as you are to see them. We take the 4 weeks to perfect every detail of the presentation and make sure that we have as much time as we need to give attention to every last important detail.
4. How many images will you take at my wedding & how many will I see from you? As the professional we pride ourselves with only selecting the best of the best to present you with a flattering and accurate story telling of your day. Between the both of us, we take well over 1000 photos digitally, but will deliver the best of the best somewhere between 500 and 900. This number fluctuates depending upon several details of your wedding day. Do you have large immediate families? Will you be including your extended families in the formal family photographs? Are you including lots of personalized and unique details within the decore and experience of the entire day? How many guests are you having? The more there is to see and do during your wedding day the more there is for us to photograph. We also pride ourselves on shooting for perfection rather than shooting to perfect later in editing. This not only makes our lives easier post wedding, but allows us to provide you with even better photographs which lends itself to better telling the story of your wedding day which lends itself to a better experience overall and, well, you get the idea. Long story short, mainly the only photographs you won’t see are the multiple extras we take during family photographs to ensure everyone’s looking and eyes open or any repetitive shots from throughout the day. We want to properly document your wedding day giving it all of the love and attention it deserves, but we also don’t want to overwhelm you with hundreds and hundreds of similar photographs.
5. Do I need to provide meals for you? Great question to make sure vendors are taken care of or at the least you know if they need to take a dinner break and step out of the reception. Our answer to this question is always: Yes, PLEASE! Most wedding days we are there from morning till late nights and we want to make sure we don’t miss a single important moment. Eating when you eat and eating close by allows us to not miss a single thing! We truly, truly appreciate it when couples include us at meal time and we get that moment to recharge and refuel.
We hope these were helpful! There are so many things to think of and ask and with so many different blogs, magazines, and social media posts telling you what to ask it’s overwhelming to know what’s best to focus on and what’s not. Over the years we have been asked a lot of questions, but have found these five (on top of the usual questions such as collection prices, album choices, hours of coverage, etc) to reoccur time and again. For more helpful information give us a shout! Mention this blog post and we will email you our “I do” To Do’s Daily Planning Page! Ready for more helpful information? On that note, happy wedding planning!
This trend of “soul sisters” seemed like just a thing of the social media world and a really cool hashtag, until I woke up one day and realized it had happened in my very own studio. As some of you you may know, I started this little photography business with a different name and a multi-passionate vision many years ago. I was still working an office gig and juggling what felt like two full-time jobs around the clock so that I could eventually quit my day job and support my dream of a creative life. Well that day arrived, I was able to walk away from the 9-5 life and dance into the entrepreneur world bursting at the seams with creativity. However, as much as I loved my new life I was finding myself quickly burning out on the very passion I had originally left for. As soon as I felt grounded in one aspect of my life another felt out of sync. I was finding it extremely hard to balance all of the great loves in my life (hubby, kiddos, photography) let alone have any time to refill my own cup.
Then, into my life mozied my favorite German, Lilly. Yes, I am allowed to point this out about her because we use it so lovingly when she comes up with fun words, such as “pengula” (which is Lilly for a pergola in case you too were wondering). She was just as excited about photography as I was and I could not WAIT to have her join me at every wedding (and in the studio). She was pregnant at the time with her first baby, sweet Emma, and we were quickly discussing all the wonderful moments of becoming a momma. We just ‘clicked’ right away, you know? We gushed over our hubbies, organic living, European vs. American life, and then remembered that we also needed to focus on work as well. I’m not even kidding when I say that we have to tell ourselves to work which you know is the best blessing when it comes to having a job. To enjoy it so much that it never feels like work. Often times our conversations revolve around how “old” I am or if Michael Jackson was actually music from ‘my time.’ I guess you could say she keeps me young? On a serious note though, Lilly has helped make this creative passion of mine more than a ‘job.’ It has become an enjoyable journey full of laughs, lots of singing and dancing on long car rides home, and now I have someone to gush over weddings with while enjoying Chipotle Burrito Bowls and Starbucks (or whatever brand of coffee we can find late at night after we’ve finished a wedding and need that extra boost of caffeine to get home).
While my girl Lilly was on maternity leave, another weird connection with my childhood bestie and I happened. She finally decided to join my team! I know, you’re wondering what weird connections we already have right? Ok, I will share a FEW of them in a little history lesson of Brooke and Mallory. We first met on a blind playdate when we were four years old and the friendship only flourished through elementary and into high school. We have shared MANY adventures along side one another including marrying McClure cousins (we had jokingly set out for brothers, but this would work just fine), having BOTH our babies four months apart, FINALLY living on the same road (we were separated for 10 years due to schooling and such… it was torture), and within the last year purchased GMCs… after both owning Jeeps first. Ok, it gets more and more strange as I type it out, but I LOVE IT! Lilly has even commented on our babbling of half sentences throughout the day that we miraculously understand of one another. Maybe we really do share a brain? Now, Brooke helps us to stay organized and some days we don’t have to actually talk to one another to understand what tasks need done around the studio. Anyway, she has become the third member of this little studio of soul sisters and I couldn’t be happier!
Actually, on that note, I think I’ll go hug them both now.
OH WAIT! Ha, so I guess you originally came here to know a little bit more about ALL of us. Well, here it goes… I, Mallory, am a girl of my dreams. I wish I could say I sit and ponder, but truthfully I am going ALL DAY (and sometimes into the night) long. I am often up late at night when I should be sleeping and actually dreaming, but instead I’m awake and getting all my thoughts out. I have been working hard on trying to change that up by getting to bed at a decent time and waking up earlier for some “me time” before the day starts. So far, so good! But back to my dreams… Other than the amazing ideas I have cooked up for Mallory McClure Photography and better ways for me to help people invest in their marriages, I have a vision of creating a little farm here on our property. I love homesteading and our whole family gets in on the process. Whether we are harvesting sweet corn from our backyard or asparagus from the decades old patch we were lovingly bestowed when we bought our property, Ryan, Natalee, and Emmet all share in my love for all things outdoors. Oh and the day Ryan finally said yes to chickens… you guys, I was SO excited. I got a cute little chicken coup with full intentions to let those feathery sistas roam around our house and have the kids chasing them around the yard. This dream came true, until well… you see, the thing about ‘free range’ chickens is that they are a delicacy to late night predators and one night, ONE, I forgot to put them back in their little coup. BUT, I will be redeeming myself with a fresh batch of chickies this spring and I have learned my lesson! Emmet, my dear, sweet little farmer man will be so thrilled! Now, to figure out how to harvest that sweet corn and turn it into my favorite snack, popcorn. Oh and maybe we can add a few grape vines and fruit trees and my perfect Friday night will be complete. A summer night campfire while snacking on popcorn and sipping homemade wine from our property; YES life goal. See, I’m just a dreamer living the best creative life I could have never imagined. So if you can’t find me behind a camera you will most certainly find me roaming about our little farm in the making with my hubby and kiddos in tow.
2018 has been the year of “present over perfect” for me and thanks to these lovely soul sisters I have been so blessed to cross paths with I have found it possible. Do we have it all together? Oh goodness, no! But we have each other to laugh and cry with when life gets crazy and a friendship that allows us to do what we do to the very best of our abilities. And what better way to serve our couples than that.

Oh my, have we been impatiently waiting to share this stunning wedding day with you! Paige and Dustin met through their shared love for Crossfit and it didn’t take long for them to notice one another. For Paige, she knew something was different about Dustin when she first heard him cheering her on. Fast forward through numerous date nights checking out local breweries, visits to the gym, and hikes together and Dustin found himself on one knee by the reflective pool in Washington, D.C. This adventurous couple tied the knot on the lovely property of the Vineyard and Brewery at Hershey which perfectly blended their love for the outdoors and all things brewed. I personally could not have been more honored as I have known Paige since we were little girls and have had the pleasure of being the wedding photographer for many of her guests. And to now be a part of their day brought our friendship full circle.
Paige and Dustin chose to start out their day with a first look (boy do we ever love those!) and it could not have been sweeter. When Dustin began to tear up the moment he felt Paige’s hand on his shoulder and she spun him around, well, it was all over for us, too. The butterflies were in full force and the energy between these two sweet souls was evident. They are meant for each other!
A little while later they were joined by their bridal party and before we knew it, it was time to compose all of the laughter and fun and prepare for the moment we had all been waiting for. Reverend Reenie Panzini led a beautiful ceremony while guests enjoyed their cups of hot apple cider. We smiled as we captured gatherings of multiple generations and while Paige’s adorable niece and flower girl, Emilie, stole the show. And as we joined the celebration led by the always amazing 3 West Productions, Paige and Dustin shared their first dance to a live performance. What followed were the sweetest toasts from both Paige’s sister (written as a story in true teacher form) and Dustin’s brother who had us laughing through our tears of joy. And as the night continued we enjoyed a delicious meal thanks to the JDK Group (yum!) and a packed dance floor. Needless to say it was one of the greats and we could think of no better couple.
