I am so honored that you stopped by today! Whether you are planning your intimate oceanside ceremony, eloping in the mountains, or traveling abroad for the wedding day of your dreams, I can't wait to hear all about it.
Planning a wedding during COVID-19 has proved to be no easy task. Uncertainties that seem to change day to day. Rescheduling not just once, but perhaps two or three times. Having to now wait 6-12 more months after looking forward to this day for months already. Coordinating all of the postponing with your wedding professionals and then notifying all of your guests. All while trying to keep your focus on the why of it all.
To those of you postponing to 2021, I feel for you. It’s been a hard decision for everyone, but know your hearts are in the right place looking out for your family, friends, wedding professionals, and yourselves.
Many couples have elected to downsize their wedding plans to a more intimate ceremony and with that I raise a hallelujah. It has been quite inspiring to see each couple get creative to make their wedding day dreams come true. Intimate wedding now, big celebration later. Honestly, it’s the best of both worlds.
Set to be the first wedding of my 2020 season, Katherine and Tyler did some soul searching while trying to decide how to navigate their wedding day. Not wanting to wait, and who can blame ’em, they opted for putting their own creative spin on an idea Katherine had come across online. They were not going to let planning a wedding during COVID-19 get them down.
Thinking of their family and friends, they opted for a drive-ins themed wedding. The mountains and whimsical fields of their rural town as their backdrop, guests arrived and pulled into their spots along side the long aisle. Talk about a grand entrance! With the help of their DJ, guests were able to tune-in on their radios to hear the ceremony while watching from the safety of their own car.
After the ceremony, Katherine and Tyler greeted guests with thank you gifts as they drove by and shared their congratulations with the newlyweds and promises of getting together as soon as they could. While it may not have been the original plan, the important part was that they were married. Their marriage had begun and their closest family and friends were able to be there to witness it all amidst the difficulties.
If you are or someone you know is in the process of navigating planning a wedding during COVID-19, know your wedding professionals are here for you and we are listening. We are ready to do our very best for you and are trying to be as flexible as possible. We are also extremely thankful for the grace you give us as we are navigating uncertainties, too. And for those of you newly engaged couples trying to plan your dream wedding day for 2021, thank you for your patience and kindness as the couples of 2020 try to find a new date for their day.
You all are an inspiration and proof that love can get us through anything.

These two huge sports fans met in college almost a decade ago. And while they are both extremely intelligent, they’re also extremely down to earth, laid back, and know how to throw a good party. Their love for the outdoors is evident in their proposal story and their Wind in the Willows wedding. One Saturday morning as Teal and Devon were hiking with friends they stopped to enjoy the surrounding scenery when Devon suggested taking their photo. Not one to normally do so, Teal shot him a confused look. That look, though, quickly turned to joy as Devon asked her to marry him right there among the gorgeous landscape as their friends snapped away capturing the entire thing.
When Teal told me of the willow trees that would be the focus of the ceremony at their Wind in the Willows wedding, well, you know I was more than excited. The day was absolute perfection from the weather to the super fun bridal party to the cool, calm, and collected bride and groom themselves.
The day started with Teal and Devon’s beautiful details as they finished getting ready with their family and friends. And then, with the willow trees towering above us, I got to witness Devon seeing his beautiful bride for the first time. Their joy was infectious and fueled even further as their bridal party joined us (in style of course – see below!). The rest of the day flowed smoothly from ceremony to reception and was capped off with a beautiful sunset.

It’s hard to believe that my first time working with Marissa and Eric was a year and a half ago for their engagement session in Washington, DC. We spent the evening exploring some of their favorite spots and ended it with dinner and drinks. We dreamed of their glamorous summer wedding at Riverdale Manor that, at the time, seemed so far away. These two are true #relationshipgoals and I knew that their wedding day would be as magical as they described.
“Do you remember, the 21st night of September? Love was changing the minds of pretenders, while chasing the clouds away. Our hearts were ringing in a key that our souls were singing as we danced in the night. Remember how the stars stole the night away…”
– Earth, Wind & Fire
These lyrics poured from the radio of my car as I headed to Lancaster to meet up with Marissa and her bridesmaids at their adorable Airbnb and I took it as a sign. And later on in the evening their band, Lima Bean Riot, made sure to serenade us all during the reception with this catchy and perfect-for-dancing tune that ideally summed up their September 21, 2019 wedding.
It was one for the books, ya’ll. I am in love with the dreamy film shots and Marissa’s bridal shots are truly some of my favorite I’ve ever taken. This summer wedding at Riverdale Manor is full of serious wedding inspiration. Enjoy!

Their wedding day took place at a local church near and dear to their hearts followed by a reception at Alverthorpe Manor. Rewind back to the beginning, where Allison and John met in Boston as freshman attending college at Northeastern University. By their third year of dating on and off they made it official and the rest is history. In the four years following they moved four times for Allison’s work and most recently found themselves settling near Philadelphia close to their families and friends.
All of that traveling has left them with a passion for trying new food and exploring new cities which typically includes a brewery stop somewhere along the way. One special night while living in Cleveland they stopped to check out the view of the city from a new park as they explored after dinner at their favorite restaurant. John saw the romantic moment unfolding and asked Allison to be his wife. Nowadays these newlyweds are soaking up their first year of marriage and taking care of their adopted pup, Scout.
Their wedding day was full of family tradition. Allison got ready in her childhood bedroom at her parents’ house and their ceremony was at an adorable local church founded by her grandparents. How amazing to start their greatest journey in the presence of so much rich history and meaning!
The reception at Alverthorpe Manor was full of laughter, good food, art, and dancing. Although it was a bit chilly, guests snuggled up with blankets thoughtfully provided by the bride and groom during cocktail hour and warmed up quickly in the heated outdoor reception space.
The entire day was so relaxed and everyone was so welcoming. One of my favorite fall wedding days for sure! Congratulations Allison and John (and Scout)!

This stunning wedding day, believe it or not, came from a rainy wedding day towards the end of my 2019 season. When I arrived at The Barn at Silverstone in Lancaster, PA, though the rain trickled down, the vibe was relaxed. It was full of joy. It was overflowing with love. Emily and Nate were at peace with the day even though the rain wasn’t ideal. They kept their hearts focused on God and the true purpose of their day.
We all crossed our fingers, said our prayers, and prepared for the backup plan with the timeline and outdoor photographs. But in the closest moments leading up to the time to venture outside for portraits, the rain stopped. Stopped. And not only did this happen for the portraits before the ceremony, but afterwards, too. As soon as my time with them was complete outside and we retreated back indoors, the clouds opened up again and the rain poured. If that’s not a sign from the Lord, I don’t know what is.
Truthfully, the day flowed flawlessly. From a beautifully worded ceremony (complete with group prayer and parental high fives!) to a super fun reception with good food and a packed dance floor. These are the wedding days I live for. Intentional couples keeping their marriage at the forefront of their hearts and minds. A perfect example of my kind of people and I am honored to have been the one to capture their day. And I found Emily and Nate’s rainy wedding day mentality so inspiring that I refer back to it on my own “rainy days”.

Flashback to the hottest day of last summer (which for me really is a nice thought because the older I get the less I like the cold). Ashley and Mike’s summer wedding at The Cork Factory in Lancaster, PA was a stunner. Her Christina Wu wedding gown was the perfect fit with her Badgley Mischka shoes and his Calvin Klein tux. It was a beautiful mix of luxurious details with personalized and unique Etsy artist creations.
We snuck away to the Lancaster County Central Park for their first look. With the most adorable little white house at the Rockford Plantation as our backdrop, Ashley made her way around the corner and Mike spun around for the first look at his bride. His reaction was priceless and I couldn’t help but marvel at how cool, calm, and collected they were and yet excitement pumped through their veins.
Lilly and I had photographed Ashley and Mike the previous year for their engagement session (CLICK HERE TO SEE!) and we knew it would be just like that day. Easy. Relaxed. Fun. And full of love. And it was. Their entire day was just so full of love and it was one of those weddings that we didn’t want to leave.
Scroll through for all the beauty and make sure to check out the most amazing reception entrance I’ve ever had the honor to capture (disclaimer: no one caught on fire during the entrance of the bride and groom.)

The first time I stepped onto the property at Linwood Estate I fell in love. It is full of grandeur and romance, yet intimately tucked away in the countryside of Carlisle, Pennsylvania surrounded by flowing fields. The property also has one of the coolest histories stemming from the couple who lived their decades ago and raised their six girls there. When the collaboration for an inspiration shoot came up, I was immediately on board and couldn’t wait to dive in. We wanted to highlight the gorgeous, bright indoor space that Linwood’s mansion provides for smaller ceremonies and intimate receptions, as well as, the beautiful, soft color palette of greens and pinks that unfolds on the property when everything is in full bloom. Enter sweet, sweet Danielle of Your Sweetest Day Events. Not only does she live up to her name, but she exceeds it. With her help we were able to bring in several talented vendors to help bring the vision together.
When looking for a couple to be at the center of it all, I knew I wanted a true couple deep in love that would take my prompts and direction as naturally as could be. Enter Katherine and Waylen. Their names just sound like one of those couples you read about in the best of romantic novels. And as fate would have it, they were celebrating their first wedding anniversary the weekend of the shoot! I knew it was destiny. What better way for these two lovebirds to celebrate than to get all dressed up and literally relive their wedding day? Katherine had us picking our jaws up off the floor and Waylen kept the mood light and full of laughter.
Surrounded by dreamy pink, mauve, and white florals and details, Katherine stunned in BHLDN’s Cassia Gown. And as we moved from on location on the property to another, you could just see the love exuding from these two bringing the vision to life in a way that was more perfect than we ever could have imagined. One of my favorite parts of the day was when Katherine and Waylen’s fun and energetic spirits shined through and we had them running down Linwood’s long lane amongst the trees and gardens (puddles and all!).
All in all, it was a beautiful collaboration amongst wedding vendors that I am so honored to say have become friends. I hope that these photographs not only showcase the talents and creations involved (I mean, have you seen the tablescape yet?), but offer inspiration to any couple looking for a light and airy, romantic wedding. And make sure to scroll all the way down for all of the amazing participating vendors and links to their websites! If you’re planning your wedding day you will for sure want to check them out (and even if you’re not and just want to add some pretty to your day!).
