This stunning wedding day, believe it or not, came from a rainy wedding day towards the end of my 2019 season. When I arrived at The Barn at Silverstone in Lancaster, PA, though the rain trickled down, the vibe was relaxed. It was full of joy. It was overflowing with love. Emily and Nate were at peace with the day even though the rain wasn’t ideal. They kept their hearts focused on God and the true purpose of their day.
We all crossed our fingers, said our prayers, and prepared for the backup plan with the timeline and outdoor photographs. But in the closest moments leading up to the time to venture outside for portraits, the rain stopped. Stopped. And not only did this happen for the portraits before the ceremony, but afterwards, too. As soon as my time with them was complete outside and we retreated back indoors, the clouds opened up again and the rain poured. If that’s not a sign from the Lord, I don’t know what is.
Truthfully, the day flowed flawlessly. From a beautifully worded ceremony (complete with group prayer and parental high fives!) to a super fun reception with good food and a packed dance floor. These are the wedding days I live for. Intentional couples keeping their marriage at the forefront of their hearts and minds. A perfect example of my kind of people and I am honored to have been the one to capture their day. And I found Emily and Nate’s rainy wedding day mentality so inspiring that I refer back to it on my own “rainy days”.
