Their wedding day took place at a local church near and dear to their hearts followed by a reception at Alverthorpe Manor. Rewind back to the beginning, where Allison and John met in Boston as freshman attending college at Northeastern University. By their third year of dating on and off they made it official and the rest is history. In the four years following they moved four times for Allison’s work and most recently found themselves settling near Philadelphia close to their families and friends.
All of that traveling has left them with a passion for trying new food and exploring new cities which typically includes a brewery stop somewhere along the way. One special night while living in Cleveland they stopped to check out the view of the city from a new park as they explored after dinner at their favorite restaurant. John saw the romantic moment unfolding and asked Allison to be his wife. Nowadays these newlyweds are soaking up their first year of marriage and taking care of their adopted pup, Scout.
Their wedding day was full of family tradition. Allison got ready in her childhood bedroom at her parents’ house and their ceremony was at an adorable local church founded by her grandparents. How amazing to start their greatest journey in the presence of so much rich history and meaning!
The reception at Alverthorpe Manor was full of laughter, good food, art, and dancing. Although it was a bit chilly, guests snuggled up with blankets thoughtfully provided by the bride and groom during cocktail hour and warmed up quickly in the heated outdoor reception space.
The entire day was so relaxed and everyone was so welcoming. One of my favorite fall wedding days for sure! Congratulations Allison and John (and Scout)!
