So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body, let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t.

A DIVINE FEMININITY SERIES

Divine femininity – not that we in and of ourselves are Divine, but that we each reflect The Great Divine in our most raw and authentic state. Capturing this reflection, like any reflection, can be illusive, unless seen in the proper form and when conditions are just right, allowing the reflection to shine forth. 

When I was in college, I was fascinated with artists whose oeuvre was inspired by the feminine form. The lines and delicacy of the feminine spoke to me in such a powerful way. The seed was planted to create an environment where women felt comfortable, beautiful, and free to express themselves without any outside pressures to feel “sexy” or perform for others. 

Through this fine art women’s portrait series I wanted to celebrate art and the human form, elevating women who all navigate this life together. It’s no surprise that the world has been in a season of division. More than ever I want to bring us together and provide a sense of community. 

“You made me feel empowered and beautiful. You had such a peaceful kindness to you and you made me feel so confident with every pose,” said Elizabeth, who sat for my inaugural portrait session. Her words are incredibly honoring and they beautifully portray the kind of environment I set out to create. The whole experience is therapeutic and tailored to each individual. 

More than just individual comfort, I want to show women that there are other ladies in their corner, ready to come alongside them and share in their journey. We were not created to walk alone and sometimes we just need to be inspired by our community.
