A romantic summer wedding at Riverdale Manor

It’s always a blessing to photograph a wedding at Riverdale Manor. Everything about this place exudes elegance and warmth, yet it is also intimate and romantic. Add in Sam and Allison and their gorgeous wedding day and voila! This adorable duo is as sweet as pie and their families were more than welcoming to us, too. We started off our time with Sam and Allison by capturing a few candids before the first look. When it came time for Allison to surprise her soon-to-be-hubby, Lilly and I were just as excited as they were! The looks on their faces were priceless and their reactions to one another gave you all the warm, lovey-dovey feelings that wedding days are made of.

Some of my favorite details of the day were all of the personal touches. A family friend of Sam’s, Sugar Mountain Farms, created all of the stunning floral arrangements. And Allison’s mom, Judy, grew all of the succulents that were included in those creations. We even got to come home with a few at the end of the night! And specifically in Allison’s bouquet they added a pin from her grandmother and lace from her mom’s veil. So sweet! And speaking of sweetness, Allison’s dad worked for Hershey so of course there was no shortage of Hershey’s chocolate kisses to snack on throughout the day. Allison’s dress is also one of my favorite’s that I’ve ever had the honor to photograph. An amazing Stella York creation that she found at The Coastal Knot in North Carolina, the state she and Sam now call home.

When it came time for the ceremony these two lovebirds were surrounded by their closest family and friends; including their siblings and their families (with the most adorable ring bearer who lovingly refers to Sam as “Uncle Ham”) and the college gang from their time at Susquehanna University. They all were an wonderful group of people to celebrate with and we honestly were sad to see the night end. Thankfully we keep in touch with all of our Mallory McClure Photography couples! In the words of Allison, “You’ll have a hard time getting rid of us.” Thank goodness, because we don’t want to ever lose touch!

As Sam and Allison approach their first anniversary I am honored to share some of their gorgeous day with you! Their first year of marriage has been a wonderful one and we can’t wait to see where the rest of the journey takes them!
